The objective of the Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure (AAI) is, in a nutshell, to simplify inter-organizational access to web resources.With a single login, with his/her institutional account, an authorized user can access from anywhere all HEAL-Link subscriptions. The AAI makes use of a concept called federated identity management.

The HEAL-Link Electronic Resource Management System (ERMS) has been developed as part of the “Advanced Digital Access Services Digital Access Advanced Libraries” funded program.
It offers integrated solutions for the management of HEAL-Link’s electronic resources (registration and management of titles, licenses, contracts, cost, usage / evaluation reports, etc.), as well as supporting a series of services to its member libraries, to librarians of institutions and also to other collaborating institutions.
In addition to this, it includes the collection, management and processing of statistics regarding the use of these resources.
Electronic Documents Delivery Service has been developed in order to provide Public Organizations with articles and book chapters exclusively from e-journals / e-books subscriptions of HEAL-Link.
This is a one way service. The End Users of the Public Organizations, that are not allowed to access the subscriptions, can make a “Document Delivery Request” through INTERLOAN System and HEAL-Link Service will send a copy of the electronic scientific article to them according to the clauses of the license agreements that HEAL-Link signs with the publishers.
HEAL-Link, offers Interlibrary loan service for medical articles from the journals that are included in HEAL-Link’s electronic resources. The Service is provided to hospitals’ personnel who do not have direct access to HEAL-Link’s electronic resources. Its purpose is the secure electronic electronic delivery of copies of the corresponding medical articles.
SELL (Southern European Libraries Link) was created as an effort to bring together Libraries from Southern European Countries. The spark of its creation was a statement prepared by the Catalonian Consortium of Libraries (Spain), entitled “Why Some Libraries Pay More for Electronic Information”. This statement focused on the above mentioned differences, peculiar to Southern Countries, and the need for a special charging policy from the part of publishers and vendors.

One of the activities of Heal-Link have been the creation of small co-operative forms in order to ensure access to individual electronic resources, for which there have been expressed interest by some members of the consortium.
